Maud, a student at EFAP Toulouse, currently interning at Halloween Agency
Communication agencies: an essential step for future communicators
Working in a communication agency allows you to fully experience the communicator’s profession — juggling multiple projects, teamwork, and daily creativity. For EFAP students, these internships are an opportunity to put their learning into practice and to develop key skills such as project management, adaptability, and team spirit.
Halloween Agency: creativity, fieldwork, and teamwork in Toulouse
In Toulouse, Halloween Agency stands out as a local reference in event communication and field marketing. This is where Maud, an EFAP student, chose to complete her internship to discover the behind-the-scenes reality of a demanding yet stimulating industry.
For over 30 years, Halloween Agency has defined itself as an independent agency specializing in events, social media, and brand activation (“the agency of phygital engagement”). With offices in Paris and Toulouse, it offers its clients — from major corporations to emerging brands — creative solutions that blend field operations, digital strategies, and content (pop-up stores, festivals, brand content activations, community management, and more).
For an intern, it’s an environment that offers exposure to multiple aspects of operational communication within a human-sized structure (around 35 talents) and direct contact with the realities of the profession.

Interview: Maud, EFAP student, Assistant in the Booking Department at Halloween Agency

Hello Maud, what are your main tasks as a booking assistant?
I mainly handle recruiting and training people through briefings. There’s also a big logistics component, especially when it comes to outfits during events, and I manage some content for the agency’s and the Booking Department’s social media. I take part in various dynamic field activations.
What has been the most memorable project you’ve worked on?
Definitely a campaign for a major spirits brand. It was a large-scale project, and I truly felt proud to contribute to it.
Which skills acquired at EFAP have been most useful during your internship?
Organization and teamwork! At EFAP, we learn to collaborate on many group projects — exactly like here. We often work in teams, sometimes on several projects at once, so adaptability and communication are essential.
What have you learned about how a communication agency operates?
I discovered that there are many different departments that all contribute to the success of a project. Each person has their role, but everyone moves in the same direction. There’s real synergy between teams — logistics, creative, and communication all work hand in hand to bring events to life.
What advice would you give to a student who wants to join an agency like Halloween?
Honestly: go for it! Agencies like Halloween are always looking for motivated and dynamic profiles. You just need to show enthusiasm, curiosity, and don’t hesitate to apply even if you don’t have much experience yet.
How is this internship helping you plan your professional future?
This internship allows me to explore different areas of communication and events. Even if I don’t plan to specialize strictly in events, this experience gives me a global view of the sector and connects me with industry professionals. It’s extremely valuable for the future.
EFAP’s perspective: why agency experience is a major asset for future communicators
Internships in communication agencies offer students total immersion in the real world of communications.
They learn to juggle multiple projects, adapt to client needs, and collaborate with diverse profiles — creatives, project managers, community managers, event producers… This experience builds a strong sense of versatility and responsiveness, essential qualities in today’s communication world. Working in an agency also means understanding how a campaign works from start to finish: from the brief to creation, from strategic planning to operational execution.
A true career springboard, agency experience allows students to build a solid professional network, gain confidence, and find their path among the many fields of the industry: event management, influencer marketing, brand content, public relations, social media, digital creation… In short, it’s an experience that truly makes a difference on a CV and prepares future communicators to thrive in a demanding, creative, and exciting industry!
