Living Series Mania from the inside: immersion in Community Management
Behind the Scenes at Series Mania: Victoire and Lina, Community Managers in Immersion
Every year, Series Mania Festival transforms Lille into the European capital of series. A unique platform for professionals... and an exceptional opportunity for EFAP communication students!
Victoire and Lina, students at EFAP Lille, joined the festival teams as Community Managers. At the heart of the event, they helped bring Series Mania to life on social media, with real-time coverage, content creation, and immersion in the behind-the-scenes action. A hands-on experience that perfectly illustrates how EFAP trains its students: by immersing them directly in the field reality.

Hello Victoire and Lina. What are your main missions at the festival?
Victoire: I am in charge of the ceremonial side and everything related to content around the red carpet, premieres, projections, and live events. We also do micro-interviews, interviews with talents on-site, particularly in the green room, and everything that happens behind the red carpet every evening. A large part of my work also involves editing.
Lina: I’m part of the field team, so I attend events like masterclasses, signings, and podcasts: everything that happens at the festival. I film content to promote and highlight these events. The biggest challenge is managing social media in real-time. It’s important to be very reactive to quickly create content and allow people to follow the festival live.
Has this experience given you a more concrete vision of the careers you could pursue?
Victoire: Yes, definitely. Initially, I was more attracted to journalism, but the intensity of event management during a week like this really opened doors for me and made me reconsider my professional direction. It could even make me change my mind about what I want to do in the future.
Lina: Yes, this experience allowed me to better understand the communication professions, and it strengthened my desire to specialize in public relations. I am already steering towards this field for my professional project.
Do you prepare content in advance or is everything decided on the spot?
Victoire: Every morning, we have a briefing to prepare for the day. However, there can be modifications and additions throughout the day, which makes the work very dynamic. The biggest challenge is managing social media in real-time. You have to be reactive, create content quickly, and publish it in a way that keeps constant interaction with the audience throughout the event.
What was your favorite moment of the festival?
Lina: My favorite moment was the guest cocktail before the red carpet. It was amazing because we were really close to the guests. We could talk to them and interact. The atmosphere was super nice and relaxed.
Which publication are you most proud of?
Victoire: The publication I am most proud of is the photo shoot we did on the rooftops of the Opera with Polish and Canadian cast members. It was an amazing experience, and the setting was beautiful.
Lina: For me, it’s the management of content live on social media, where each moment has to be captured and shared immediately so that the public can enjoy it in real-time.
