Celebrity Agent: A Profession Spotlighted by Clarisse Castan on Netflix
A Fascinating Profession Highlighted on Netflix
The release of the Netflix series dedicated to Clarisse Castan shines a spotlight on a profession still relatively unknown to the general public: that of the celebrity agent. Working behind the scenes, these professionals play a decisive role in the careers of the artists they represent. While the show adds a touch of fiction, it mainly reveals the strategic importance of this profession at the heart of the media industry.
Clarisse Castan is one of the leading figures in the field of talent management in France. Known for her intuition and her ability to spot and elevate young talents, she has become a key player behind the scenes of French show business. Her impressive journey — which began with a formative experience at the Accor Group before founding her own agency — earned her a place on the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list, which recognizes promising young leaders each year.

The Netflix series has given her unprecedented visibility, showcasing both her inspiring journey and the crucial role her team plays in the success of the artists she supports.
The Key Role of a Celebrity Agent
A talent agent or celebrity agent is much more than just an intermediary. Their role spans a wide range of responsibilities:
- Negotiating contracts to secure the best opportunities;
- Developing long-term career strategies for their clients;
- Managing public relations and maintaining their clients’ image;
- Identifying new professional opportunities in film, television, fashion, or advertising.
Being a celebrity agent means combining relationship-building skills, artistic intuition, and legal expertise. It’s a profession that requires working behind the scenes while exercising significant influence.

✨ What Studies Lead to a Career as a Celebrity Agent?
Becoming a celebrity agent doesn’t happen overnight. There’s no single path, but certain programs serve as real springboards. At EFAP, our communication programs offer direct access to careers in media relations, event management, and talent representation.
A concrete example is Zoé, one of Clarisse Castan’s assistants featured in the documentary, who is currently studying at EFAP. Her experience perfectly illustrates the balance between academic learning and professional immersion.
When Fiction Inspires New Vocations
Following the success of the Netflix series, the profession of celebrity agent is attracting more and more young people passionate about event management and entertainment. The docu-series highlights its glamorous dimension — parties, red carpets, and encounters with influential personalities — all of which contribute to the profession’s fascinating appeal.
In reality, the day-to-day life of an agent is demanding and fast-paced: long days, constant availability, and handling unexpected situations. But that’s also what makes it so rewarding. Being an agent means living at the artists’ rhythm, supporting their success, and contributing behind the scenes to some of the most memorable moments in the media world.
It’s a vibrant and stimulating profession, offering the chance to grow within the creative industries, build careers, and share unique experiences with artists. No wonder it inspires so many young talents today.
Long confined to the shadows, the profession of talent agent has now established itself as a true career of passion and strategy. Thanks to figures like Clarisse Castan and the influence of platforms like Netflix, this role is gaining recognition and inspiring new vocations.
Interview with Zoé, EFAP 5th-Year Student and Apprentice at Clarisse Castan’s Agency, Ginger & Limón

What are your main responsibilities at Ginger & Limón?
At Ginger & Limón, I work on a wide range of tasks — it’s a very complete role! I handle communication and influence, which includes managing the agency’s social media and developing strategies for the brands we collaborate with.
I also focus a lot on the “talents” side, especially monitoring brand partnerships. Alongside that, I help organize events — both internal ones like Clarisse’s Women With Impact dinners and those we design for our clients. It’s a part of the job I love — always creative and stimulating.
There’s also a whole monitoring and reporting aspect: I keep track of what’s happening elsewhere, our talents’ news, and their projects. It’s a fast-paced rhythm, but that’s what I enjoy — no two days are ever the same!
Which projects have impressed you the most so far?
Honestly, several! But if I had to name two, I’d say first the Kilian Paris party during the Cannes Film Festival. It was intense, very high-end, and we had the chance to work with incredible talents. Cannes remains one of the most prestigious events of the year, and it’s amazing to be part of it!
Then there are the Women With Impact dinners we organize in Paris. They’re truly inspiring events, bringing together women from all backgrounds. Seeing the connections that form is so rewarding — it feels like being part of something meaningful. Each edition makes us want to do more!
How did you find this opportunity?
It was a bit of destiny! I was talking to a friend — saying I needed to find an internship for my first year of my master’s at EFAP — and she told me about a brand-new agency: Ginger & Limón. She described their first clients and activations, and I instantly loved the concept.
She kindly recommended me, and a few weeks later, I joined the agency in January 2024, just six months after its creation. I loved it from day one — the energy, the projects, the atmosphere — everything clicked!
As part of your apprenticeship, you also took part in the filming of the show “Clarisse : dans l'ombre des stars”. What was that experience like?
Yes! It was completely different from anything I’d done before. I worked on the shoot for about eight months, so I was really at the heart of the production.
It was both professional and very human. We experienced intense moments — filming during events, interviews, travel… What I take away most is the discipline such a project requires and the power of teamwork. And honestly, seeing the behind-the-scenes of a Netflix documentary — that’s not something you experience every day. It was incredible!
Do you already know what you want to do after your apprenticeship and EFAP degree?
Yes, it’s quite clear! I’ll be staying at Ginger & Limón for the foreseeable future because I really enjoy what I do. My goal is to keep evolving in this world of communication, celebrities, and brands. I’d like to take on more responsibilities and further develop the agency’s communication strategy. There’s still so much to build — it’s exciting to be part of this adventure.
And who knows... maybe we’ll share more in a Season 2!
